Track record

The name is a nod to disco. Isaac Washington was the bartender on the TV series The Love Boat, and the pseudonym is a wink to the records that came first. What made him want to DJ was the crowd: the moment a room reacts to a record you chose.

He learned on vinyl, then moved to digital as the tools evolved. His influences come mostly from the electronic scenes of the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland, and his sound runs from deep house to trance depending on the room.

Paris clubs

His early residencies were in Paris: Gibus, Queen, Rex, Folies Pigalle and La Loco. He also played major events, including the Techno Parade, Paris Pride, Pelouses Électroniques and Apple Expo. Playing the Techno Parade and Pride remain among his most memorable sets.

Studio and collaborations

Along the way he worked with Antoine Clamaran, Salomé de Bahia, Eric Kaufmann, Hatiras, Pitchin (Dirtyphonics), Eddie Amador and David Stépanoff. Since 2024 he has been releasing his own singles, self-released and on Strukture Sound.

On the radio

The Afro D Isaac Radio Show started in the 2000s and grew into a weekly programme on FM and web radio in more than 15 countries, with guests such as DJ Antoine, Armand Van Helden, Hatiras, Mousse T. and Spiller. After a ten-year break for family, the show came back in August 2024.
